Keeping Kayfabe

Welcome, one and all, to the new one-stop shop for the projects of Patrick W. Reed; that’s me, in case you hadn’t guessed.

After ten years working in professional wrestling, and far longer watching it and studying its history, this year I was proud to announce the forthcoming release of my first ever book, Kayfabe: A Mostly True History of Professional Wrestling. You’ve found your way here, and you’ve probably seen the homepage, so I’m sure you know all about that already. So what’s this blog all about?

It’ll be a little while before Kayfabe is released into the world, and even then, there’s so much more in the wild and stranger-than-fiction history of pro-wrestling than even made it into that book, and that I can’t wait to share with you. Here, as well as keeping you up-to-date with future projects and whatever else might be on the horizon, I will be sharing essays, biographies of key figures, and assorted musings on all things wrestling past and present, and not just wrestling, but topics from across the pop culture stratosphere.

It’s the first steps on a whole new journey, and I won’t be going it alone - that’s where all of you come in. I’d love to know what else you would like to see and hear from me here at Keeping Kayfabe, and your thoughts on everything I post, so be sure to make your voices heard.

And if you can afford to throw a little something my way in support of this endeavour, you can always find your way over to my Patreon, where you can also get access to all future blog posts before anyone else, as well as some future perks and treats still to be determined.

Thank you for joining me, I can’t wait to hear from you!

Patrick W. Reed

A former wrestling referee-turned-wrestling writer.
